ERT is seeking an energetic, talented Platform Manager (f/m/d) - Platform Engineering to join our Corporate Platform Engineering team. We are looking for a team player supporting the entire Product LifeCycle of ERT’s enterprise level Clinical Trial Platform, who will deliver measurable business results through enterprise-wide, cross-product platform solutions that integrate with new or existing ERT products to meet market needs, company goals and technology strategies such as cloud-based components and services.


As Sr. Platform Manager you will provide leadership, management and influence across global, cross-functional teams including Business Development, Customer Care, Project Management, operations, Education and Training, Systems Validation, Regulatory, Engineering and other Product lines in order to define, build, test, maintain, integrate and extend the platform solution.


In this role, you will continually define new requirements and refine existing features to provide innovative, cost-effective, and scalable, operational processes that support the production rollout and successful launch of the assigned Platform. The Sr. Platform Manager will manage all aspects of the Platform Life Cycle for Products (defined as products, devices and services) with significant company impact in a new or established Product line.


The Sr. Platform Manager will support the Platform and associated services as a subject matter expert and consultative partner with excellent business and technical competence to help inform, influence and establish a successful path forward.



Responsibilities will include:


  • Platform Planning and Management
    • Manage complex product decisions and work with design and engineering teams to drive platform development of components and services using modern software development practices including agile development methodologies.
    • Manage and/or coordinate platform performance testing and system tuning throughout the development cycle to ensure an exceptional user experience for our customers.

  • Platform Leadership by executing the Development Life Cycle Process:
    • In collaboration with Product Management, gather, analyze, and prioritize product requirements that align with the product vision and company strategy using product roadmap
    • Continuously deliver value to existing and future customers to differentiate the Platform and its suite of products
    • Drive DLC and collaborate with product management on PLC for successful product delivery with quality
    • Lead the development of required PLC / DLC documents to enable successful Product delivery efforts (i.e., Opportunity Overview, Market Requirements Documents, Product Launch Packages)
    • Lead cross functional product teams through the strict compliance of all steps of the Product Life Cycle
    • Facilitate business and technical requirements between Research and Development and Product Management.
    • Determine, clarify and present platform functionality dependencies.
    • Collaborate with other groups to define the end-to-end platform experience for all user personas.
    • Work with Product Managers and ERT’s User Experience Center of Excellence to incorporate UX feedback from customers

  • Platform Leadership by Collaborating with Product Management on executing the Product Life Cycle Process:
    • Coordinate priorities with the Product Review Board
    • Coordinate changing priorities with the Change Review Board
    • Work with internal teams to build features that support operational feasibility and scalability within the platform solution

  • Platform Leadership through Cross-functional Relationship Management
    • Monitor ongoing Platform success in the market including: Financial management, customer satisfaction, and competitiveness.
    • Communicate all potential risks (regulatory or other) and operational deviations including summary root cause and CAPA metrics to ERT Executive Management personnel as necessary.
    • Identify and develop third party business opportunities for software or hardware products to complement ERT’s line of Products



We are looking for candidates who offer a combination of the following for the role of Sr Platform Manager?


  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree (computer science or science-related field preferred); Master’s degree in Technology or Science (desirable)
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years’ experience in software product and/or platform management working with stakeholders defining user requirements for engineering teams
    • 5+ years’ experience in the clinical trials industry, working with customers and competition to recognize and discover new opportunities and improvements.
    • Demonstrated business planning skills and track record of defining, developing, and launching successful software products
    • Demonstrated track record in delivering regulated technology products/services in a high growth environment within the pharmaceutical or medical devices industries
    • Experience working with engineering teams to translate customer and operational needs into technical requirements and resolve technical issues
    • Demonstrated leadership in executing market research (voice of customer), identifying unmet market needs, and translating those needs into business opportunities
    • Experience working with product owners from integrated product lines to negotiate, prioritize and communicate high level and detailed product specifications using deliverables such as written specs, use cases and user experience-generated information
    • Experience with cloud-based software platforms (SaaS) and technologies such as AWS and GCP
    • Experience with human-centred design and Agile development methodologies
    • Proven leadership and decision-making abilities
    • Ability to synthesize information into a compelling platform module roadmap
    • Customer focused with interpersonal and influencing skills across the organization
    • Superior project management, coordination and planning skills
    • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills in English language
